Radfactor Colored Sand Russian Juggling Ball (65mm and 72mm)
A Colored Sand Russian ball is the same as the Premium Radfactor Russian ball in feel and weight. The only difference is that the Colored Sand ball is made with a semi-translucent shell and filled with colored sand. This is a rare model of Russian ball, making it easy to identify your set at a gym or festival! This Russian ball comes in two size 65mm and 72 mm. 72mm is omparable to the size of a tennis this ball is good forgood choice for jugglers who want to juggle 3 to 5 balls and like the look of bigger juggling balls.
This thin-shelled Radfactor Colored SandRussian ball is the best quality Russian ball on the market for jugglers looking for a full Russian effect. The very light shell is coupled with a sand filling to give the ball a pronounced Russian effect on the catch. The sand quickly goes to the bottom of the ball when caught, which causes a pronounced Russian effect. The lighter the shell weight in comparison to the filling weight the more effect you get. In general this type of ball is mostly used for numbers juggling, but has become much more popular for all types of toss juggling.
The partially-filled style of juggling ball is called a Russian ball because Russian jugglers were the first to use this type of ball in modern times (since around 1990). However, the concept of a partially filled ball can be traced back to the 19th century. One disadvantage of this type of light weight Russian ball is that it is easily affected by wind, making it difficult to juggle with outdoors. The ball shell is soft, but not too soft or thin to be affected by altitude or heat changes (some very light shelled Russian balls will become dented if you fly with them.) The texture of the ball is very smooth, not sticky but also not slippery, perfect for multi-ball releases from one hand. The ball is made with a plug flush to its surface, giving the entire ball an even texture and feel with no exposed/raised plug. Balls come in precisely matched weights.

I ordered 5 of the 75mm orange ones. These are my second set of radfactors and as always, the quality/feel is phenomenal. If you've never had russians, you really can't go wrong with this brand. I tried out the clear version with colored sand just because I wanted to try something different. They are cool, but I will say that the balls I received were slightly foggier than the ones in the picture. It's not a huge deal, but just makes it harder to tell the sand inside is even colored. Still, I highly recommend (whether it be these or the solid colored ones).

Very original great Russian Colored Sand Ball! Like these. The sand color is thorough and competent. The bubble is firm with some give. There is a small tab, a part of the construction, inside the ball that seems to be relevant to the heat weld, it is not visible except in close inspection and causes no noticeable weight imbalance. The Russian effect in these is crisp and positive. While some jugglers steer away from Russian effect, it is worth embracing as it brings a set of valuable points of awareness to practice. When one throws funky due to unawareness or other gap in true technique, a little tempest cyclone develops in the ball. This feature helps train throwing style. Grip and catching is also benefited because one needs to zero out the fill motion dynamics in each catch, and this builds greater stability into patterns and transitions. Renegade Juggling has put much focus into product development over many years. RJ products demonstrate clear design understanding and thorough production tuning results.
