Play SIL-X Light Juggling Ball (78 mm)
This is a light-weight version of the Play SIL-X ball. It has a lighter weight shell made with thinner plastic giving it a softer feel preferred by some jugglers. The ball compresses very easily and has a nice feel on the release from your hands. The ball has a gloss finish and is offered in bright solid colors.
The Play SIL-X Light comes in 2 sizes: 75 mm and 78 mm:
- 75 mm (2.95 inch), 100 grams: This SIL-X Light ball weighs about 25% less than the normal 75 mm SIL-X ball, which weighs 130 grams. This size ball is comparable to the size of a baseball. The 75 mm size is a good choice for juggling 3 to 5 balls (possibly up to 7 balls for a juggler over 6 feet tall).
- 78 mm (3.1 inch), 130 grams: This SIL-X Light ball weighs about 15% less than the normal 78 mm SIL-X ball, which weighs 150 grams. This size ball is slightly larger than a baseball. It is good for 3 to 5 ball juggling for an averaged sized juggler, but is a bit large for 6 or 7 balls unless your hands are big.
The ball is 1/3 filled with liquid silicone and works like a Russian ball in principle. When the ball is caught, the filling travels to the bottom of the ball making it easier to catch or balance. The liquid silicone slides down the sides of the ball more slowly than the micro-glass beads in a Renegade Russian ball, which serves to reduce wobble when thrown into the air. This light version of the SIL-X ball does not weigh enough for contact juggling, so jugglers wanting a ball for contact should use the normal Play SIL-X ball.

i got these at the recommendation of Cyril Rabbath, my teacher. I love them? Easy to catch, durable, just enough "russian effect" while still allowing rolling. Highly recommend!
